James C, Halfpenny, Ph. D. would describe himself as a scientist and educator who specializes in carnivores, cold, and tracking. His tracking career started where he grew up along the North Platte River in eastern Wyoming and western Nebraska. There are plaster casts in his collection dated 1958, "you do the math".
Carnivores, especially bears and wolverine, are his great love. Much of his career has centered on teaching others how to find rare species e.g. bears, cougars, wolves, wolverine... As a licensed guide in Wyoming, hunting played a central role in developing his abilities to find all sorts of creatures.
